Gabriel Yuil, MD, a family physician in Massachusetts, is iPatientCare’s first customer

Time is NOW to allow the iPatientCare MU Taskforce help you get the incentives!
iPatientCare users are pro-active. They think ahead and start ahead! They are already
being trained by iPatientCare MU Taskforce to understand the expectations of Medicare
and Medicaid and utilize iPatientCare EHR as a tool to generate and submit Meaningful
Use reports efficiently. iPatientCare EHR and Practice Management System is designed
to capture necessary information at relevant stages to submit reports to CMS with
a key stroke! What is needed is the appropriate training and implementation of iPatientCare
EHR.
As more and more users are rapidly adopting meaningful use, iPatientCare is facilitating
their readiness for the attestation process. The company’s MU Taskforce is walking
the users through the steps necessary to calibrate existing datasets, if required,
and track and report on 90 consecutive days of ‘Quality of Care’ indicators. iPatientCare
Enterprise Quality Reporting (EQR) is a powerful engine using which they achieve
this configuration and calibration. The users also have been greatly benefiting
from the iPatientCare MU Dashboard, a multi-layered interactive reporting and alerting
tool that enables users to track and meet their target MU goals.
MU Dollars are just one of the many incentives you could receive through iPatientCare
EHR!
Many iPatientCare users have been forerunners in implementing multiple quality initiatives
including Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Physician Quality Reporting Initiative
(PQRI), Medicare Care Management Performance (MCMP) etc. and have also benefited
greatly from the resulting pay-for-performance incentives. Apart from being instrumental
in driving Meaningful User reports configuration and output, iPatientCare’s EQR
and MU Dashboard seamlessly extend to monitoring performance for these other programs
such as PCMH, PQRI etc. too.
Beyond MU Stage-1
iPatientCare EHR is already qualified for ALL clinical quality measures currently
proposed under Meaningful Use program and nearly half of them are optional in stage-1
but will be mandated for stage-2 and beyond. iPatientCare EHR users need not worry
about having to wait for those measures to be supported by our solution nearer the
time, they are already there! As a leader in the market, iPatientCare – MCS has
always been and will continue to remain at the forefront of compliance with future
measures for multiple quality programs such as MU, PQRI, PCMH etc. plus emerging
certification requirements under Certification Commission Health IT (CCHIT)’s rigorous
testing programs.
While these quality programs help improve quality of patient care in multiple ways,
efficient and user-friendly iPatientCare EHR solution more than makes up for the
monetary and time investment by allowing users to stay on top of reportable quality
measures and making incentives much easier to come by. iPatientCare has been named
as a preferred MU partner vendor by several states’ Regional Extension Centers (REC),
so new users are coming onboard just as rapidly.
Early adopters get more!
The Stimulus funds are planned to be disbursed to benefit the early adopters of
meaningful use of EHR technology. Physicians who wait and watch for too long would
lose up to $20,000! After all, it is $19.2 billion fund. iPatientCare EHR and PM
users understand this fact, and hence, they do not lose time. They start today.
Penalties from 2015
Penalties for providers not demonstrating meaningful use of EHR technology will
begin after 2015. Why face penalties? Implementing iPatientCare EHR is not difficult.
iPatientCare MU Taskforce is ready to guide you through the process and help you
put your quality reports together.
About ARRA
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 got signed into law by
President Obama on February 17th 2009. Contained in this bill is a total of $19.2
B for Healthcare Information Technology called the Health Information Technology
for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act).
Beginning in 2011 up to $44,000 in incentive payments are being made available to
physicians that can demonstrate “meaningful use” of a “qualified EHR”.
The questions are:
• What is “meaningful use"?
• What is a “qualified EHR"?
Well, on January 13, 2010, the Government defined “meaningful use” distinctly and
the bill passed. The “meaningful use” is now defined and is being validated by an
Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ATCB) designated by the department of
Health and Human Services ’(HHS) Office of National Coordinator (ONC).
We know that the Stimulus Program might be difficult to understand. For more information
